Balfron – Honeyholm
A pleasant route with beautiful views of the Campsies, passing some interesting properties on the Fintry Road, described in the Parish of Killearn book.

Path description
- The route starts and finishes at the Buchanan Monument in Killearn
- Directions can be followed in reverse order, if preferred.

Section 1.
Depart from the Monument (*1) in the Balfron direction, leaving the village along King’s Mile, passing the old Observation post in the field on the right and Heron’s Court on the left. At the Blackhill Crossroads (*2) after 1.5km continue straight on, past the driveway to Park Hall and through Boquhan. Entering Balfron, after 3.8 km, turn right up Dunmore Street (*3). At the top after 4.5 km turn right again at White Yetts Brae (*4) onto the back road to Fintry.

Section 2.
Continue on this road passing Dalfoil Farm and enjoying magnificent views across the Endrick valley to the Campsie Hills until at 7km you reach Honeyholm (*5). Turn right (signposted Fintry). Continue for a further km across the river and up the slope and turn right again at the top (*6) onto the B818 towards Killearn.

Section 3.
Follow this road– past entrances to Old Ballikinrain, Ballikinrain Castle, Mains of Branshogle and Old Boquhan House – all the way back to Blackhill crossroads at 13km. Turn left back to Killearn and the Monument at 14.5km.
